Top 7 Favorite JM Heroes... in order.

OK. Rank your top 7 favorite JM heroes, in order. I know, I know, it's hard, but NO cheating.

You may ask why I didn't just ask us to rank all 16 of them? It is selfishly because I will start feeling sorry for whichever heroes fall below the #7 mark--and I will grow irate if one of them is Clay or Matt. lmao. So let's stick with the Top 7.

1.) Matthew Farrell & Clayton Westmoreland (Is this cheating? It IS, isn't it? Okay, okay, Clayton is number 2. Barely.)
2.) Clayton Westmoreland (really he is like 1.00001, or whatever a millionth of a point behind Matt is.)
.
.
.
(I am skipping space to emphasize how much I ADORE Clay and Matt, and how far above everyone else they are. ha ha)
.
.
.
3.) Royce Westmoreland
4.) Zack Benedict
5.) Ian Thornton
6.) Jordan Townsende
7.) Jason Fielding

Hmm... I keep thinking of Mitchell Wyatt. He maybe belongs in my top 7. I need to do a re-read....

#1 Clayton Westmoreland
#2 Matthew Farrell
#3 Zachary Benedict
#4 Nicholas DuVille (Nicki)
#5 Royce Westmoreland
#6 Stephen Westmoreland
#7 Ian Thornton

[as you can see, I am a very 'Westmoreland' biased person. Muhahaha! All three Westmoreland heroes are in my top 7 list]

Okay, I've read the first part of your message Jessica, not the answers. I haven't read any answers. I want to be 100 percent myself about this list. So, here we go:

1- Matt (he is the love of my life ;D )
2- Clayton
3- Ian
4- Zack
5- Royce
6- Stephen
7- Mitchell

We should have written our top 10s. Even music lists have top 10s. I want 3 more please!!!! Jason, Jordan, Nicki, Michael. Oh my God. Not even 10 is enough for me :_(

Now I can read your answers 0:)

Haha, all three of you chose Matthew as your number 1. I don't blame you all though. I totally understand.

Wow! We all have Matt, Clayton, Ian, Zack, and Royce on our lists!

Other than these 5 fabulous heroes we have Stephen, Mitchell, Nicki, Michael, Jordan and Jason on our lists. Hmmm... So that means all my favorites are in on at least one list.*LoL*

What??????

Jessica, Matt is your number 1 hero? I thought for sure Clayton would have beat him out after your recent re-read!

I'm busy reading about Mitchell right now, but I'll be back in a little while to rate my top 7. I love this topic, btw.

Clayton, of course, is my numero uno. : D

Numero uno! Wow. I ♥ your way of putting it. He he!

Ok, this is VERY difficult because I love them all so much...but if someone was holding a gun to my head and I absolutely HAD to pick one over the other...I would do so in this order:

1)Clayton. Clayton, Clayton, Clayton.
2) Clay
3) 9th Duke of Claymore

What? What's that you say? That's cheating?

*sigh*

Oh, alright. Here's my real list.

1. Clayton
2. Jason
3. Jordan
4. Stephen
5. Matt (Honestly, it's not that Matt ranks so low on my list. He's absolutely my favorite contemporary hero...I just have a particular hankering for the historical men)
6. Mitchell
7. Ian

I actually did come very close to doing the unthinkable and putting Matt as number two, (really # 1.00000001). My fingers even hovered over the keyboard uncertainly. But in the end...I just couldn't do it. He is too perfect.

Clayton was my first love. Matt is my last love. *sigh*

Um...Stephen before Matt?? Really??? *shaking head in disbelief*

Let me know when you would like to schedule your re-read of Paradise, as I can see that one is desperately needed. rotf.

Hmm. Let's do UY after I finish Almost Heaven and you finish EBYT. I need to reread it anyway since I just finished AKOD and W,ML.

I am beginning to think Matt would rank higher on your list if he had gotten pissed more often. lmao. And icy. And cold. And BORED!!

rotf...*clapping hand over mouth*

Matt sooooo does not have any flaws. And he was ever so icy and contemptuous at first -- until he realized the truth. And then he was forceful, and dynamic, and determined to move heaven and rearrange the stars in order to MAKE Meredith see--by any means necessary, including but not limited to blackmail and bribery--that they were meant to be together. And then! As if that weren't wonderful enough, he got deliciously icy and cold and bored yet again at the end when Meredith couldn't trust him!! And in the MEANTIME he was getting icy and cold and bored with everyone else while he set out to acquire enough shares to make sure that Mer would never entirely lose Bancrofts should her father make her choose between him and Matt.

I mean, I am getting short of breath just thinking about it.

Flaw + Matt = "Error. Unable to Compute. No such thing."

OK, I am officially changing my Top 7.

1.) Matthew Farrell
1.00001) Clayton Westmoreland
.
. (several galaxies later)
.
3.) Royce Westmoreland
4.) Zack Benedict
5.) Ian Thornton
6.) Mitchell Wyatt
7.) Jordan Townsende

I had to add Mitchell to the list! I couldn't stop thinking he deserved to be there. So Jason got ousted. (Sorry Jason.)

*gasp*

You ousted JASON??? Over IAN????

That's ok. I forgive you since I fully support your need to put Mitchell on the list. I lurve him.

Well, I mean...I just read Almost Heaven, and the thing is, I can't find anything that Ian did WRONG. He is rather like Matt in that regard--he has no flaws. So surely he deserves to make the Top 7, no? Should I have kept Jason over Jordan?

Sigh.

Ok. You know what this means. Now I am going to have to go reread Once & Always and Something Wonderful just to be certain.

Wow! What a dynamic topic. I love your bickering!

And Crystal, Matt is perfect. Oh please! He does not have one single, tiny flaw! I totally, one hundred percent agree with Jessica here.. The computer does give an error when you enter Matt and flaw in the same command :D And his icy and cold demeanor does exist. He gets angry very often in that book... He is just reasonable, that's all. Remember the journalist who was making an interview with him at his place. And remember what they all were thinking. How cold and distant and sexy he was. *sigh*

I can understand your historical hero love, but Ian? At number 7! Really? Oh please, I'm just dying of angst here. I usually wonder why I love Clayton more when I am absolutely in love with Ian, and he is the perfect hero. And you've put him on number 7! Oh God. I am hyperventilating just thinking about this. And Matt is at number 5. You nearly made me cry :_(

But on the other hand, we were too obsessive about Clay and Matt here. So you are like a fresh air with your love of Jordan and Jason and such. (I'd like to admit that I love Jason and Jordan too. I think this indecision is all JM's fault. You can't create that many wonderful heroes and expect us to choose some of them over others.(Now one of you might say she didn't ask any such thing, and I should have to agree with you but please, favorite hero is a pretty basic question to ask. I think she should have favored one over others so that we could decide easier. *sigh*) )

Ha ha ha ha ha...You are killing me reacting to how low Ian is on Crystal's list.

That is exactly how I am going to react if someone posts their list and Matt is NOT on it. Such a travesty could never occur in the world as I know it.

No excuse exists for Matt not ranking in the top 5.

Even if you haven't READ Paradise yet, Matt should STILL make the top 5.

rotf.

I am just saying.

So, have you drawn up a list of the order? Let me know, too! I can read the current book that day (you know I can't not finish it), then write my thesis while waiting for you to finish : D Then we'll talk! I like this plan. Let's do it!

I must admit that I only JUST finished Until You the other day!! I got distracted with some class work and also by reading Brenda Joyce's de Warrenne series.

Sigh. Until You.

I had forgotten SO many amazing aspects of this book!!!

So we were thinking of reading Whitney, My Love next. I realize that a) that is in reverse order, and b) I just reread W,ML several weeks ago, and c) y'all are probably tired of hearing me sigh over Clayton, but perhaps we could all "suffer" through it again together...erm...in honor of Whitney's birthday? lol.

Clayton... Sigh.

I changed my post to my top 5 JM heroes. While I enjoyed all her books, these heroes are the ones that truly stand out for me:

1. Ian Thornton - Far and away the best and in a class of his own. I am insanely in love with this fictional character!
2. Matthew Farrell
3. Clayton Westmoreland
4. Royce Westmoreland
5. Zachary Benedict

I am writing on this board just to say Stephen Westmoreland has got to be my top pick. Maybe because Until You was my first McNaught book, and it started me on the McNaught craze years ago! I picked up Whitney My Love after Until You, and I remember thinking how different Stephen was in Whitney. Anyway!

1. Stephen
2. Matt
3. Stephen!
4. Zachary
5. Matt - again! Lol

2. Royce
3. Clayton
4. Noah
5. Stephen
6. Nicholas
7. Ian

Y'all.... I just read Whitney, My Love for like the 67th time (that estimate might actually be low), and....this is a huge step for me, but..... for the first time in, like, twenty years, Clayton is moving back up where he belongs... 8o

1.) Clayton Westmoreland
2.) Matthew Farrell (who--don't get it twisted--is only a millionth of a point behind Clayton...)
.
.
.
3.) Royce Westmoreland
4.) Zack Benedict
5.) Ian Thornton
6.) Mitchell Wyatt
7.) Jordan Townsende

OMG.... :{ I feel so disloyal to Matt. But....sigh, Clayton was my first love and somehow he has done the impossible and won me back from Matthew Farrell. Crystal will be endlessly amused that it has taken me this long to finally admit it.... ::what::
