Note: Judge it based on overall - story/plot/characters/emotions/ending etc etc

(W,ML ranks number 1 in everything for me, my first JM book-my top hero-my top heroine-my top JM book)

#2 Perfect

#3 Paradise

(Perfect and Paradise was in tie BUT I put Perfect higher because of the lots of business scenes in Paradise; and the mystery in Perfect kept me a bit more, uhm, curious.)

#4 Kingdom of Dreams
(Westmoreland - this is where the lineage began! )

#5 Something wonderful

#6 Once and Always

#7 Almost Heaven

Even though it pains my heart to see Paradise so far down the list, I suppose I have to be mollified by the fact that Paradise made it to #5 at all, considering every other book on the list is a historical... ha ha.

Exactly. I adore all of JM's books but her historicals are especially close to my heart.

I am actually kind of surprised that it moved to number two on my list. For a while there Paradise and Matt were my favorite but after that last reread of Whitney, I was forced to admit it will always be THE book I wish I could write. Sigh. There is simply nothing else like it.

Imagine how proud Judith must be that she created such a masterpiece that it still remains at the top of everyone's list of favorite books of all time????

Yes, WML was first and got rejected, so she finally put it aside and wrote Tender Triumph. Thank GOD she went back and tried again with WML. Can you imagine if she had never gotten it published???? The horror!

I wonder what I would be doing right now if W,ML had never been published...? Ha ha. I do not jest when I say reading that book was a landmark event in my life. lol.

Really, what kind of a person wouldn't want W,ML and would want Tender Triumph. I do not mean disrespect. But please, they are oceans away. W,ML is one of the best romances ever written, for everyone, period. While Tender Triumph is my least favorite JM book (and I love everything JM). I mean how on earth, someone had decided W,ML was not worthy of publishing while TT was? I just cannot get it.

Agreed. I'd love to know the name of the moron that rejected WML. And actually it would have been several morons that rejected it, right?
