Ha!!! Omigoodness, I have never noticed this possible change! I can't tell you now, but will check my original when I get home. I also think veriest is a great word.

So I FINALLY found my first edition Whitney, My Love (sadly, it was to discover that the box has gotten wet and the cover came off--*sob**sob**sob*), but the pages were thankfully undestroyed, so I checked this line... And it's the same one as above. The "greenest green". But I'm still sure that I've read a line using "veriest" from one of the books....
