This new April release from Julie James was scrumptious. John Shepherd was deliciously hot. The heroine, Jessica Harlow, had that special something that makes all of Julie James’s heroines so fun to read. And the inner monologues were hilarious.
Jessica and John hate each other from way-back-when, so when Jessica relocates to the Chicago FBI office and discovers that her first undercover case is with John Shepherd, whom she hasn’t seen in years, she is…less than thrilled. And John? Yeah, he isn’t exactly happy about it either. Which is unfortunate, since their investigation requires them to spend a lot of time together out of town in a posh little beach resort.
La. For all that they hated each other in the beginning, the book is intensely romantic. I read it in one sitting. SUCH a sweet book. Loved.
